The Creator does not send me suffering. The desire that is not similar to the Upper Light awakens within me and I feel this dissimilarity as suffering with respect to health, money, honor, power, security, spouse, children, and the whole world. I feel pressure, hardship, and various problems.

The world’s most prosperous countries also host the highest rates of depression, suicide, and drug addiction. There are people who cannot cope with the feelings of despair and emptiness, even when their lives are filled with all kinds of material abundance.

Countless times you have recognized the Creator in your thoughts and in the world around you. Sometimes this recognition is instantaneous and sometimes there appears to be a delay effect as in going through something intense where at the other end of it you realized that Hashem has been there all along especially in those trying moments.

How can a person attain spirituality and what does it even mean to attain spirituality? People have lots of questions and are offered an even greater number of answers, because everyone has their own definitions of spirituality.

Food provides us with the physical strength to do our work, but eating is also a major spiritual responsibility. The Sages explain that there is a soul within every piece of food. The souls within food can't do anything by themselves, but once the food becomes part of us, our actions also become connected to the actions of the food's soul.
